Publenef is a 3-year (2016-2019) project funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, aiming to assist EU Member States in implementing effective and efficient sustainable energy policies (with the focus on energy efficiency). The project helps to empower policy-makers to make use of best practices and policy processes implemented in other Member States at national, regional and local levels.
Publenef’s main results include among others the online repository www.publenef-toolbox.eu which is a user-friendly digital platform containing over 150 online and offline tools and good practices supporting local and regional policy makers in their energy efficiency policy implementation. Further to this, include the development of roadmaps in each participating to the project country to enhance the process of successful implementation of policies. Roadmap summaries can be found on the project website publenef-project.eu.
The EDI-Net (Energy Data Innovation Network) initiative analyses and communicates subhourly electricity, gas and water smart meter data to identify waste and savings opportunities, reduce consumption and save money.
The initiative is aimed at public authorities’ decision makers, financial planners, energy and building managers and building users. An online forum and workshops facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experiences and best practices to support public authorities during the implementation of their sustainable energy and climate action plans.
