The II Local Living Lab "Schools4energy - Schools protagonists of energy saving" was held in Potenza, at the City Hall, on April 24th, 2017.
The event was organized by the Lucanian Energy Society (SEL), in collaboration with the National Research Council of Italy - Institute of Methodology for the Environmental Analysis (CNR-IMAA), and the Municipality of Potenza.
The II Local Living Lab was aimed at presenting and discussing the experiential learning activities that will be developed within PrioritEE by the Primary and Lower Secondary Schools of Potenza during the next school year with the school representatives and the technical officers of the Schools Buildings Department of the Municipality of Potenza.
The first part of the meeting was focused on the presentation of several examples of good practices on energy efficiency and behavioural changes implemented in several schools that involved Local Authorities, teachers and students. In particular, the activities carried out in the framework of other Interreg projects (MED EduFootprint and TEESCHOOL, CENTRAL EUROPE TOGETHER and FEEDSCHOOLS) were presented by the Province of Treviso (Antonio Zonta) and ENEA (Mario Tarantini).
The presentation of the Potenza Province’s activities and the successful experiences carried out by the Gasparrini technical secondary school of Melfi provided interested insights on what has been locally implemented and can be transferred to other schools.
In the second part of the event, Filomena Pietrapertosa (CNR) introduced the “Schools4energy” proposal of an experimentation laboratory on energy awareness for the selected schools of the Municipality of Potenza whereas Giuliano Sarricchio (SEL) focused on the “School race” module, designed to engage actively the schools and in particular the students in a joint competition for energy efficiency.
